In the Countdown Zone…

Five weeks of school left! Not even, actually. Four weeks, three days. And…. GUESS. WHAT. In exactly five weeks today, I’ll have worn my braces for three. YEARS. Three years of these darned things, and on May 30th, I’ll be getting them OFF.

Can you believe it?!! There’s an exact date now!! So now I’m counting down until I get my braces off and until summer vacation! SO. I’m going to catch you all up since my last blog post, as my grandma told me the other day I needed to post more… this is for you, grandma, so you know how I am…

My cat and I had a mini-cat-nap the other day… on the floor. I closed my eyes for ten minutes and when I opened them his claws were all in my hair. “Mittens, get out of my hair!” Haha! Literally. Tomorrow, a year ago tomorrow, I went the Taylor Swift’s red concert, and her fifth album is supposed to come out this October. I can’t WAIT! 🙂 I had a 79 is my science class last week. A SEVENTY-NINE. And now I’m still barely an 81. I’m the safe zone but… I made all A’s one time this year, but I don’t know if I can bring it up. After all, CRCT (finals; decides if I pass my grade or not) is this Wednesday. I’m kind of freaking out about it.

Meanwhile, I’m missing school today. We’re going to Stone Mountain later today to spend the day together for Good Friday; then we’re going to check into a hotel and stay there until Sunday – Easter! There’s a “Sunrise Service” where we go to the top of the mountain for a mini-Easter-service and watch the sun rise. Then we’re going to my Aunt’s for an Easter egg hunt with my cousins and our close family friends… plus some ham! A really good ham. Especially since my dad’s client gave us a gift card for Christmas for the ham. It’s a reeaalllly yummy ham. And after that we’re having ham bone soup. I really like ham.

What next…? We got a new car! Our old clunker (my new name for good ole’ Henry), was making all sorts of scary noises, so my Uncle, who is a mechanic, borrowed it for a while and got it to where it rides okay now, so we can use it to ride it places nearby, like church, or my school, if we have to. But our new one is a Honda Odyssey and it’s so clean! It smells good, too, and my mom got a “new car” air freshener and I like to smell it 🙂

Also… I’m participating in “Camp NaNoWriMo“; my word count goal is 30,000 words and I’m currently at 19,137! I’m more than fifty percent through. I’m really having to push myself to finish this thing, though, and it’s probably one of my worst works. 🙁 But I am going to finish it, no matter how bad. I’m vowing to shut my inner editor out and keep swimming! Or keep writing. Just keep writing, just keep writing… Finding Nemo is the best movie ever.

Oh, movies! 🙂 My mom and I went DVD crazy the other day at Target (even though we have cable, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Instant video, lol…) and got Ever After, Jane Eyre, Courageous, and Becoming Jane. Becoming Jane – Oh my goodness! I cried!! I don’t want to give anything away, but… my word. And Anne Hathaway as Jane Austen? PERFECT.

That reminds me, we’re singing this really pretty song in Chorus – “Castle on a Cloud” from Les Miserable. It’s sooo pretty. Of course, in the movie it’s in a different language, but we’re singing it in English. 😉

I’ve run out of things to say. That happens, sometimes, when I’m talking to my parents, but you should be glad because I really could make this longer. Oh well. My mom and dad are making sausage, so that would be my cue to go EAT IT. 🙂

I love hearing about what you are doing! I hope it doesn’t rain today because your Easter box may get wet if the postman leaves it at your house! Have a good time at Stone Mountain I know the sunrise there will be beautiful!
Love you and Happy Easter to all of you!
